Grand Millennium Auckland unveils its stunning ballroom makeover.

Grand Millennium Auckland has revealed its ballroom’s transformation after an extensive renovation, showcasing a custom-designed lighting sculpture by James Russ Studio, an 11.5m LED wall, and refreshed interiors.

Spanning the entire ceiling of the ballroom, The Sky Garden lighting sculpture, crafted by James Russ Studio, boasts over a million hand-assembled LED lights.

Taking inspiration from the blossoming spring hues of pink, purple, and white wisteria flowers, the lighting sculpture envelops viewers in an immersive journey, adaptable across three dimmable settings.

The carpet design draws from the Wai o Horotiu stream, meandering beneath the city and flowing into Te Waitematā harbour. Evolving color tones mirror the river’s widening, connecting to a sense of heritage and anchoring the ballroom’s ambiance to the past and the city’s future.

The Grand Ballroom, one of Auckland’s largest, is perfectly suited for hosting a cocktail function for 1,000 guests, accommodating 800 delegates in a theater-style conference, or hosting a banquet for 550 guests. With a spacious 830m² area, it can be divided into four sections for smaller events, all accessible from the pre-function area boasting captivating views of Auckland city.

In celebration of the revamped ballroom, Grand Millennium Auckland offers complimentary usage of the LED wall for gala dinners with bookings of 300 or more guests held in 2024.

This transformation of the Grand Ballroom is part of Grand Millennium Auckland’s extensive NZ$30 million (US$18 million) makeover, spanning its F&B venues, meetings and events spaces, and guestrooms.
